Walk for the cure! – Scranton 2018

Set in the beautiful backdrop of Scranton’s Roaring Brook, this route extends  approximately 4 miles that starts at the the entrance of Nay Aug park, continues along Davis trail, and crosses roaring brook.

About Walk for the cure!

The Brain Institute of America is a company dedicated in finding cures for brain cancer. Given brain cancer is a rarer disease, fewer research dollars are being given to study the causes of this disease. Therefore, we are co-sponsoring Walk for the cure! events across the country with our sister organization, The Brain Institute of America Foundation, to raise funds so that the foundation can proceed with its mission to provide grants to scholars-in-training focused on studying the underlying cause(s) of brain cancer*.

DATE AND TIME

$10.00 to enter & to receive your ticket number.

Check-in starts promptly at 10am. Please be sure to have your tickets, and registration forms ready so we can expedite the check-in process.

Along the trail there will be fun facts and quizzes about brain cancer, and the local scranton area, as well as a tie die station, so be sure to bring white T-shirts! There will also be opportunities to check out our Institute swag, and signup for Institute Caps and T-shirts. Remember, proceeds go directly to the Foundation to support brain cancer research programs.

Here is one brain cancer research project being funded right now. (Research being funded)!

At the end of the walk, participants can take a moment to make entries on our memorial wall, and light a candle for a silent vigil if they so choose.

Also raffles will also take place at the end of the day for prizes and Institute swag!

Registration and Tickets –

First, please purchase tickets for the event by choosing one of the following options:

1) Click here to go to our Eventbrite page. There you will be able to purchase your tickets and obtain a receipt number.  Save your ticket or the receipt number for raffle entries on May 20th.

2) You can also purchase directly through Paypal via our website, which has a reduced fee option.

Walk for a cure! events raise funds so that the Foundation can proceed with its core mission of providing scholars-in-training grants to those focused on studying the underlying cause(s) of brain cancer.

Second, please fill out our registration and waiver form which is required for all walk participants. This also includes sponsorship and team information, as well as opportunities to sign up in advance for Institute T-shirts and other Institute swag.
