We do include or offer third-party products or services on our website. With respect to payment information; however, to obviate storing PII on our web servers, all donations and items for purchase are hosted through verified third party payment sites such as Paypal, or WordPress financial services that use encryption algorithms to protect users data. Therefore no individual’s financial nor demographic information will be stored on this site, even when we request payment.
 
Google and WordPress

We have not implemented Google’s advertising program Google Adsense, however, in lieu of this implementation, our site will follow standards as is determined by Google’s Advertising Principles. We plan to use Google AdSense advertising on our website. However, Google, is considered a third-party vendor, and therefore advertising will adhere to WordPress rules and procedures regarding use of PII. Google AdSense uses cookies to serve ads.

We, along with third-party vendors such as Google use first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookies) and third-party cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) or other third-party identifiers together to compile data regarding user interactions with ad impressions and other ad service functions as they relate to our website.

CalOPPA requires commercial websites and online services to post a privacy policy. The Brain Institute of America operates as a digital entity as well as an academic institute across the United States, and therefore potentially collects Personally Identifiable Information from California consumers.
